For 25 years, Rick Doblin has been battling the system in order to make MDMA (a.k.a. Ecstasy) an approved medicine.  He is the president and founder of MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), and he has a degree in psychology, as well as a doctorate in public policy from Harvard.  In this video, he indirectly raises an interesting point – that the use of psychedelic drugs played a big role in the widespread objectivity and freedom that actually made the 60’s into a cultural tipping point, since when things that were considered weird (e.g. doing yoga) became quite normal in western society.

As a highly controversial figure, Rick Doblin seems like a very kind, loving, and conscious (albeit somewhat of a spaced out) guy; and yet his conclusions are very – down to earth.  When asked about his view on 2012, he says:

‘”When you look around, we are living in crucial times.  I think one thing that concerns me is making something too concrete… that there’s going to be this transformation of consciousness, this fundamental split between where we’ve been before and this new consciousness – and 2012 marking this division line. I used to joke with Terrance McKenna that if he really believed that 2012 was going to be the end of things, that he should take out all these long term balloon mortgages that he has to pay in 2013.  At the end of the day it’s like, what are we doing today and is there going to be a change if it ends in 2012 or not; would I do anything different now?”

“Giant whales couldn’t survive without tiny plankton; giant redwoods couldn’t survive without insects.  But… why are WE here?”

Morgan Freeman is the narrator of this One Earth video, one of the many beautiful videos that strive to empower and motivate people to help our planet.  Long gone are the messages of a devastated Earth that we are destroying; the new message portrays a beautiful world that we can save!  With music by the likes of Hans Zimmerman and narrations by Gene Hackman, Linda Hunt and many more, the videos of One Earth are not only beautiful, but  infused with a loving hope for our planet.

“Maybe it’s because,” continues Freeman, “of all the species that share this world, we’re the only one with the power to protect the entire planet!  The only one with the power to protect every species on Earth… including ourselves.”

Why don’t you change? What prevents you? If each one of us asked that question, not verbally or merely intellectually as an entertainment, bus asked that question more seriously and deeply… what’s your answer?

What are the consequences of not changing? Is Krishnamurti’s provocation based on idealism or reality?   However the case may be, his conclusion is very reasonable: “If we share one consciousness, then surely one person changing – affects another.”

Carl Sagan was deemed the ‘people’s scientist’ as he brought the distant stars into people’s homes with his  award-winning 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. He also popularized science with many books, the most famous being  Cosmos (the best-selling science book ever published in English), and The Dragons of Eden: Speculations on the Evolution of Human Intelligence, which was awarded a Pulitzer Prize.  He was also the author of Contact, a best-selling science fiction novel that was made into a movie starring Jodie Foster in 1997.

In this video, Carl Sagan describes the second, third, and fourth dimensions; or rather, the limitations of the second dimension to see the third, and the third to see the fourth, in a wonderful, witty, and most importantly – simple manner.

“Recent advances in brain research using brain imaging techniques such as SPECT, fMRI and EEG have indicated that the human brain is already hard wired for enlightenment. It seems that the brain, over millions of years of evolution, has been prepared for the experience of unity with Cosmos or oneness with God.”

This excerpt is taken from the fascinating website of Dr. Erik Hoffmann and Inger Spindler, the co-founders of the Mental Fitness and Research Center in Copenhagen.

Erik has been doing research of the human brain and consciousness for over 30 years. Using EEG methods and real-time brainmapping he has been exploring and studying ‘Altered States of Consciousness’ as found in meditation, hypnosis, and psychedelic states, and his work has been presented at brain conferences in Miami, USA in 2001 and 2002.

Inger Spindler works as a neurotherapist, having studied transpersonal psychology and Eastern philosophy. She has spent a lot of time in India, stayed in quite a few ashrams and in 2006, and during a 21-day process in Golden City, India, she experienced a Kundalini Awakening. Lately Inger has drastically changed her life by regulating her own brain waves and states of consciousness through neurofeedback, coupled with Feeling Release therapy.

Among their many interesting studies on consciousness and the brain, their simple and scientific approach to kundalini awakening through sex (complete with brain wave results), can be found by clicking here.

The Kundalini Network and Information Association in Denmark was started by people who went through the process of kundalini arousal, with the aim of helping others who are also going through this process without even knowing it, or the actual effects of  kundalini.

“The Network urges emphatically all yoga- and meditation teachers, and other therapists to learn how powerful are the energies one is dealing with here, so that the damages can be reduced in severe cases of Kundalini arousal. The education should naturally contain knowledge about how to help those who have been stricken. Many people make contact with the Network after they have experienced a kundalini arousal which has caused a serious crisis including psychic difficulties and problems in the family-life and at work.”

The organization warns that kundalini may be aroused not only by yoga, meditation, healing, or body and psychotherapy, but also by births, unrequited love, celibacy,  intense studies, physical traumas, deep sorrow, high fever, drug intake, or can even occur suddenly without apparent cause.  Below is the story of Else Johansen who had such a bad case of kundalini awakening without even knowing it; a good example of why this Danish network is urging people to better educate themselves  concerning this occurence that seems to be on a rapid rise, as humanity’s consciousness reaches new hights.

In Christianity it is referred to as the Holy Ghost, the Kaballah calls it the Secret Fire, the Ancient Hebrews the Shekinah, whereas the Chinese named it the Greater Kan and Li (…and the list goes on).  By far, the Hindu religion has gone the farthest in studying, understanding, and implementing this holy energy that is sleeping inside of us, the holy energy it calls Kundalini.  The word itself means “coiled” or “the coiled one”, and it looks like a snake, resting in three coils at the base of our spine.

The kundalini can be awakened in many ways, the most popular being through sex (I’ve no idea why) and many books were written to properly illustrate this exciting type of enlightenment.  In this sensual philosophy (most popularly portrayed in the study of Tantra- an esoteric branch of Hinduism), the kundalini energy begins to climb up the spine and through the body, around the chakras, and is meant to push through the head and the third eye chakra in order to manifest itself as the “Kundalini Awakening”.  In actuality, once the sacred energy actually reaches the third eye chakra, it recoils back down and we end up with an orgasmic flush.  We are then satisfied, never even knowing the experience we’re actually always missing out on… every time.

Below is a relaxing introductory video  to Kundalini through Tantra, with beautiful music (Enya, Nocturn) and imagery (Alex Grey art); by the Humanity Healing Network.

“How long will presidents blind the visions of men?  …How long:  Not long!

… Because no lie can live forever… because you shall reap what you sow… because my eyes have seen the glory of the Lord…

Glory, Hallelujah! His truth is marching on!”

This great visionary who inspired people to rise above aggression and fear, to usher an era of greater respect and love between people, was also the greatest speaker of our time.  This was his last speech, delivered on the day before his assassination, and rendering his powerful message into a prophecy.
